Club Rules & Regulations

All guests must sign in at the Golf Shop prior to using any golf facility.

Dress Code

Members, member’s guests, and juniors using any of the golf facilities, including the driving range and putting green, must wear apparel appropriate to the game of golf. Men are required to wear collared shirts and they should be tucked in at all times. Slacks or Bermuda-length shorts are considered appropriate. Ladies are required to wear slacks, skirts, dresses or Bermuda-length shorts. Shirts for ladies must have either collars or sleeves.

The following items of clothing for both men and women are not allowed on the golf course:

  • cargo shorts or cargo pants
  • tank tops
  • sweat pants or gym shorts
  • warm-up suits
  • swim attire
  • tennis shorts
  • short shorts
  • denim of any type or color
  • cut-offs or torn clothing

Denim pants are permitted in the Clubhouse and dining facilities.

Caps & Hats

Caps or hats worn on Club grounds must have the brim facing forward. Men should remove their hats when using the indoor dining facilities.

Shoes

Golfers are required to wear non-metal spiked or spikeless golf shoes while using any of the golf facilities. Golf shoes used at other golf facilities must be cleaned prior to being used at Long Island National Golf Club. The Locker Room Attendant can perform this cleaning service along with changing metal spikes to appropriate alternatives. Long Island National assumes no responsibility whatsoever for any injuries or problems associated with the use of non-metal spiked or spikeless golf shoes, regardless of whether or not they were supplied by Long Island National Golf Club. Non-metal spiked and spikeless golf shoes are permitted in the Clubhouse and dining facilities during hours of operation for breakfast and lunch service.

Cellular Phones and Electronic Devices

All cellular phones and electronic devices must be kept on vibrate or silent mode at all times while on the Club property. No sounds of any kind or music should be heard coming from such devices. Non-verbal use of cellular phones and electronic devices is permitted on the Club property. In the event that a member or guest’s non-verbal use becomes disruptive to pace of play on the golf course, or to the Club experience of other members or guests, the user will be asked to please discontinue use in that moment. Verbal use of cellular phones is only permitted in the Locker Rooms and Parking Lot. Rules for cellular phones and electronic devices may change during tournament play.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the interior of the Clubhouse or any other building of the Club. Smoking is also not permitted on any of the patios. All smoking materials must be disposed of in an appropriate manner on the golf course, driving range, putting green or practice facility.

Pace of Play

Slow play will be viewed as disrespectful and disruptive to other golfers. A round of golf for a foursome at Long Island National Golf Club should be completed in less than 4 hours. Golfers who are not able to maintain the pace of play, or that have a hole open, must invite golfers behind them to play through. Pace of play rules may also be enforced by an assigned club employee.
